Interschool
I got in! Crosscountry! So I get a whole day of school to run for 20 minutes or so and Jacgui and Loren and Ellen and Louisa are all going and its gonna be awesome! I came sixth - just. Emma almost beat me. And they only take six, so I really only just got in!
Freedom
I had an awesome Saturday yesterday. Apsolutely awesome! I rode my bike round to Loren's and then we (me, Jacqui and Loren) spent the morning at Loren's and then went walkabout in the afternoon.
We rode our bikes down to Howrah Primary and played on their ovals. We played bike-tag and wall soccer and piggy in the middle and had a frizbee throwing comp. We found their swings and spent a while on them. Then we were so thirsty and we were sick of looking for nonexistent taps round the school, so we went up to Shorline and bought some lemonade and chocolate and had a picnic on the beach. We must have looked like such bogans - three teenagers sitting on the beach handing round a bottel. They wouldn't have known we were just a few nice kids drinking lemonade!
I love Hobart. Its such a perfect city. Its got everything you need - shops, entertainment, everything. And wide open spaces. Parks, ovals, beaches, a mountain! :) We talked about that yesterday. We talked lots.
And it was the kind of day that I normally only get at Lake Leake or Fortescue or somewhere. The kind of day when you feel so alive and happy and FREE! Yesterday was awesome! :)

Eclipse
The only problem with it was that there was too much kissing. Actually, rephrase that. Too much of Edward and Bella kissing. She should have kissed Jacob more. Jacob's HOT.
It stuck pretty close to the book, but in a few places it really started to drag. But oh well. I thought it was worth watching :-)

Smile!
I'm in a happy mood today. I don't really know why, but its good. It's sunny and warm (for tassy anyway) and I had a really good music withdrawal last period. And it was with all da grade 10s and Simon made me play music I'd never seen before and I didn't fail too much :-) and Sam said that I'm gonna have to play 1st trombone in concert band next year and I said I'm gonna be playing 1st flute and then Cris said I'm gonna be the best at both so I'll have to do both. Like, at the same time. Which is kinda stupid, seeing as I'm actually good at flute, whereas at trombone there just isn't anyone else. But yeah, I was the only grade nine there and I felt really included which makes me feel special cause back when I was in grade 7 these people used to hate me!
I'm happy today! :-)

Anyway it was so much fun opening it! :-)

Party time!
It was my Bday a while back, and I had a chocolate party on Saturday nite! We did an amazing race thing round Howrah and Bellerieve, then went back to my place for games and food! It was awesome! I decorated the garage really well, with blankets and streamers and fairy lights and everything! I even vaccumed it :-)
My team came third in the Amazing Race. It was really close between us and Ellen's team the whole way, but then Hayley's team went and found there last clue and won, while the two of us kept searching for ages. We only lost in the final sprint up the hill! Jacqui and Loren lost cause we sent then the long way :-)
Back at my place - Pass the Parcel. On each layer was a dare. Here is louisa opening the parcel with her mouth!
The last layer - 'Give the parcel to the person who can do the best chicken dance' Kelsey won :-)
This was a chocolate taste test game. Like on MasterChef when they have to taste the herbs. Except your in pairs and one of you can only look and the other can only taste. Loren and Lucinda (in this pic) struggled the most!
And here you have the good old chocolate eating game! Roll a six and you can stuff yourself full of chocolate!
Plus you have to wear funny clothes and use a knife and fork!
Jacqui.
This one was good. Chocolate moose eating! The thought of moose is still making my friends feel sick! In this round you had to shovel moose into your partner's mouth while they shovelled it into yours.
Messy? Totoally!
Round two! The members of the two winning teams played off as individuals. But with no spoons! This photo makes Mum feel sick ;-)

Birthdays, Band and Bikes
Well, here I am. Back in Tassie. Back in the world of cold and rain and disfunctional sunshine that doesn't make you warm. *sigh*
It was Mum's Bday on Wednesday, and she had a really good day (I think). I got her Boggle (which she's now addicted to) and a little box which said 'Why we love you...' and contained messages from her friends and family. Thx to anyone reading this who contributed! :-) I also took the others shopping, and Beck got her an ABBA CD (cause she got so excited wheneva I played ABBA in the car in Queensland :-), Kez got her a crossword book and Ray got her a scrabble dictionary.
Its my Bday 2moz! 15! It sounds so old, but on the other hand its not that special. It doesn't let you do anything much. It doesn't let you drive or drink or anything. It just means things cost me more (like the cinema) :-(. But it does mean I get pressants! And a party! My party's on Saturday and Its chocolate themed. We're gonna play The Amazing Race round Howrah and Bellerive and then come back here for food and party games :-) Its gonna be so much fun!
We're back at school, and Mac's making us have 2 band rehersals every week, so we're really good for NZ. The extra one last week was at 7:30am! But just about everyone was there, and we worked really well, so I guess we'll do some more of them! Apparently Newtown does them once a week! Poor Newtown Boys! It was so wierd though, going from band to school! And I was a bit tired all day, but who really cares.
And I couldn't play Trombone all week last week. Cause of my elbow.
On Monday, so thats the day after we got back from Queensland, it was a public holiday. We went for a BBQ at Talosa St park with the Walkers (Jacqui's family) and the Franks (friends of Jacqui's family's). There's this massive mountain bike park that we went and rode round and it was awesome and I didn't fall off! Yay! But then we went riding around the bitumen road to visit all the little playgrounds. And then I did fall off.
I was going down a hill, and I was coming up to a speedhump. I was slowing down for it a bit, but then I hit it. And my tire burst. And I flew over the handle bars and hit the ground on my stomache and totally winded myslef and slid for a few meters before I stopped. It looked so specky! But Bernard was the only one who saw, cause the other were all up infront.
Anyway, apparently the look on my face was like, 'oh. I fell off.' Like it was enevitable. And at first it was cool. Like, nothing hurt and I'm always fine so I assumed it'd be the same. Then I looked at my hand. Blood. someone pointed out me elbow. Blood. I looked at my top (It was a really nice purple one with butterflies) Holes! And my jeans! Holes! I was devistated. But then I started to hurt. My grazes started stinging. My shoulder started throbbing. My knee started doing a wierd mixture of both. I must have landed so badly! But I'm getting better now. Just about everything's scabbed over and my shoulder's fine again. But for a few days there everything was very painful!

Camp! :-)
So much better than my grade 8 camp! It was amazing! I went absailing and fishing and there was this massive flying fox like the gumleaves ones except bigger and better! We had a ball - we were like a cross between kids and teachers - we got to do the fun stuff with the grade 8s and then muck around with the teachers inbetween.
Later in the day we went absailing. Kelsey and Emma went with one group, Me and Jacqui and Ellen went with the other group. Kelsey got back and was telling us how there was a surprise out there for us. Then she took me aside and told me how Jarvo had tried to throw a water bomb at her when she was absailing, and how he was planning to do the same for Ellen. As pay back for the fire poker thing and also as pay back because they're always anoying him in class (but in a good way). I told Jacqui. He missed Kelsey, but he definately wasn't planning on missing again!
The second night Kelsey and Ellen formed the turban club. None of the rest of us had the right scarves for that!
And we even all survived the car trip back with Mrs Watts! It actually wasn't too bad! We apent half of it talking about gumleaves - because the flying fox and rope courses and Spring Beach reminded us all of it. And then we just talked about whatever we felt like! We even talked to Mrs Watts for a bit (instead of pretending like she wasn't there)! We asked her about the schools she'd taught at and which she liked best and stuff. Hopefully we didn't spoil our chances of prefect too badly!
My verdict on grade 8 camp as leaders: AWESOME! Totally worth it!
Our grade 8s were good. the worst thing they brought with them was Red Bull. And they slept at night. The other group was up at midnight and apparently brought alcahol (but they were smart enough not to get caught).
Funny Moments:
Jarvo is our sport teacher. We're mean to him (most of the time) and he's mean to us (half of the time). But he's fun and we all like him. Smithy is also our sport teacher and he's equally cool.
Well, Jarvo was poking Kelsey with a fire poker. Kelsey grabbed hold of the end of the fire poker. Jarvo strated dragging Kelsey across the floor of the camp centre. Ellen grabbed hold of Kelsey's legs to make Jarvo work harder. Kelsey let go of the fire poker.
Let me just point out that the floor was made of cement. Cold hard cement.
Jarvo went flying! He landed on his butt about 5m away! We were all laughing our heads of, along with all the other teachers and any grade 8s who were lucky enough to see it! Jarvo was ropable! :-)

The grade 8s all went first, then the teachers, then us. It was a 20m cliff face, and we were suspended on two ropes, the absailing one which we controlled and Jarvo's safety line, which he controlled.
The worst thing he did to me was shake the rope a bit at the start, which was scary, but nothing compared to poor Ellen!
Here's some photos of me absailing:
Ok. So Jacqui went after me, and then it was Ellen's turn. She's scared of hights. She was up on top of the cliff about to start and Jarvo was shaking the rope, just like he was with me. He says its the quietest he's ever seen Ellen - right then when she was about to tackle a 20m cliff.
She got going well, and got down about 5m before it got interesting. We were watching from below with the grade 8s, who we'd all told what was going to happen. Ellen was the only one who didn't know! Jarvo apears above her with a huge orange water balloon. We're all watching and screaming, 'Look up Ellen! Look up!' She does. Then she freezes. I can't even describe the expression on her face. She kinda went white and shocked and frozen all at once. Anyway, Jarvo stood there for a while, admiring her expression, the dropped it. It hit her right in the middle of her stomach. Just a reminder: she is 15m above the ground, suspended by two ropes. And she was wearing a white tank top. Poor Ellen! And then Jarvo was back, with another water bomb! But this time he chucked it at us! It landed half on my leg and half on one of the grade 8s. Ellen started moving again and was almost at the base of the cliff when Jarvo stood on her safety line! So it wouldn't let her down any further! She just had to sit there and yell at him untill he decided to let her down. It was all hilarious, even Ellan agrees with us there!
We all had to walk back to camp though, and Ellen froze. Even with my and Jacqui's jackets on she went all shivery and couldn't talk. Here's a photo of her warming up by the fire back at camp:

We were also the queens of wierd fashion. The first night we all wore our bikini tops over our clothes, just to entertain everyone. It worked! The teachers thought it was hirarious (Jarvo and Smithy in particular) and the grade 8s agreed. We also wore beanies if we had them, and scarfs in whatever wierd way we thought was funny. Oh yeah! And Ellen wore her leatard! I don't have any photos of that, so you'll have to settel for this one of Jacqui.

NAPLAN vs camp
Well, these next three days I was ment to be spending as a leader on grade 8 camp. These next three days I'm also ment to be doing NAPLAN testing.
the testing was going to be cancelled. The teachers union was going to stop it cause of the myschool website and everything. But no. We find out two days before it happens that its on, and its over our camp.
NAPLAN is compulsary. It has to be done this week, from Tuesday to Friday. Everyone did two today, writting and spelling+grammer. The five of us camp leaders also did Reading comprehension. The hardest bit for me was the spelling. You all know how bad I am at that!
So yeah, we just have the two maths ones to do on friday. We have to travel back from camp early, with Mrs Watts. The principle. And no doubt she'll take the opportunity to interrogate us about our prefect-ish-ness. What if I say something wrong! Do you have any idea how scary this will be!
But we still get to go on camp for two days. We leave 2moz. So all we really miss out on is cleaning up, and who wants to do that anyway?! :-)

Misc
Grandma came and Grandma went. I survived. I slept (or not) in the twins room. I officially hate thin foam matresses.
Jacqui met Grandma, and she pretended to be all nice and sweet and grandma-ish. She even refrained from giving out sloppy kisses and biting ears! But then, on the other hand, Jacqui is starting to doubt the survear-ness of my grandma problems. Which rate 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.
I only got into one big extended arguement with her. It started cause we were watching Australia, and she was saying how the stolen generation wasn't actually like that. How the Aboriginal mothers were happy to send their children of to English schools. How they wanted their kids to learn the valuable life skill the Europeans had to offer. How the Kids were fighting for possistions. Says Grandma.
Um, no. What kind of mothers want to send their kids of and never see them again? And they were learning! They were learning how to survive as an Aboriginal. They didn't need white-people schools! With reading and Writing and Maths!
But no, says Grandma. Aboriginal mothers are different from us. They don't mind who's looking after their kids as long as their being looked after. They were happy to hand their kids over to the church!
Hmm, yes. That really makes sense. Stupid racist old fool.
I was at band all day today. As in, I wasn't at church today. And we were talking about it infront of her before she left. And she started lecturing me on being a good christian! Cause she can really talk, can't she!!!
I could go on and on about this forever, but your probably all sick of it as is, so I'll stop.
I went to band today. We're really progressing! We've got 5 pieces working well and another 7 that are getting there! New Zealand is becoming more and more realistic!
I'm going on grade 8 camp next week! If you remember, our grade 8 camp was really bad, but this one's gonna be awesome! It goes for two nights (not one) and its and Spring Beach (rather than Orana) in Orford (not Lauderdale)! They get to do absailing and kiaching and rockclimbing and all these other cool things. And we're going as leaders! Me, Jacqui, Kelsey, Ellen and Emma! We were picked over a bunch of grade 10s and several other grade 9s! Pretty good, don't you think! :-) And it gives us a good idea of who they're gonna think about for prefect!
And finally, we are of to Queensland for 16 days over the June Holidays! More details coming soon!

Mt Field
We spent Thursday night up on Mt Field with my friend Jacqui and her family. Loren came with us too. We got there at about midday on Thursday. The wether wasn't good. We got an almost clear bit to walk from the car park, up the jeep trail to the ski huts. Jacqui and her family are members of the Mawson ski club, right next door to Oldina (where we were a couple of weekends ago). So we had my family (me, Rachel, Keziah, Rekekah and Mum - Dad came up for the night, but he still had to work), Jacqui's family (Jacqui, Bernard, Cathy and Rick - the people we go walking with) and Loren.
We played games all thurday afternoon, cause it just wasn't nice outside. We played Mafia, poker, Compadibility and Truth. We played a lot of Marfia and a lot of Truth (like truth or dare, but without the dares).
On friday we woke up to a beautiful morning!
The view from the Mawson veranda on Friday morning.
The Twins ready to go walking on Friday morning. We went up to the Lion's Den, a massive bolder field with lots of caves and passagewys between the rocks.
Of we go! Jacqui, Loren, Me (with the pack - Mum didn't want to carry it uphill) and Beck.
Us at the Lake Seal lookout. You should be able to work out who's who by now.
Beck relaxing in the Lion's Den while me and Jacqui and Loren and Bernard crawl through tiny gaps in the rocks.
The Twins went down to Tarn Shelf with mum before us. We were still too busy exploring. But the we had to go join them before they ate all our food!

On friday we woke up to a beautiful morning!
You've got Jacqui in front, then Loren, then me, Rachel and Bernard.
Before we left the ski hut, Loren and I made a pact to go swimming, no matter how cold and miserable it was. And it was very cold and miserable. So cold and miserable that Bernard was questioning my sanity. He sould no by now that nothing gets inbetween Hannah and water! And Loren had never been swimming in a mountain tarn before, so I had to go with her, obviously!
Jumping in. The trick is not too think about it. As soon as you think about it, you start to think its not such a good idea. Loren made that mistake and took ages to get in. I didn't. Not this time! I've learnt that lesson before! Loren ended up half falling in, I did a graceful bomb with a massive splash! :-)

We then swam round to scare some old people with our freakish-ness. Bernard and jacqui followed us round the shore, demanding that we get out and put jackets on before we die of some horrible disease.
We didn't leave Mawson until it was dark. We just weren't in any hurry at all! Us kids played flags until it got too dark, and Mum and Cathy played Scrabble. Then we left - walking along the jeep trail by torchlight.
Loren, who's just started The Tomorrow Series, thought it was the coolest thing ever. She's never done any bushwalking or anything, and she kept saying how it all reminded her so much of the trips into Hell in the books. :-)
Easter
We spent the actual Easter weekend (Friday till Tuesday) at Lake Leake. The morleys were there too! :-) Except for Sam, cause she was in South Africa. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be without her. It was wierd to have no1 to play games with, and it was lonely when James was out fishing in his boat, but all in all it could have been a lot worse.
We walked right the way round the lake. It took about 4 hours, and we were walking fairly fast. It was just me and James and Rachel and Ollie, not the twins. It was fun. :-) We met these old people at Kalangadoo Bay, and they told us it would be impossible to get through the snowy - the river at the back of the lake. And then when we got there it was just a trickle! We jumped over it without even getting our feet wet! Actually, it was quiet dissapointing. James and I were both looking forward to a bit of a challange.
The hardest part was getting past the damn wall. We had to folllow the river downstream a bit and then wade across. It was a raging torrent compared to the snowy! It was knee deep on me, and it freaked Ollie out a bit - he's not a very good swimmer. Then we came up behind the damn. Which is STRICTLY no tresspassing. And the caretaker saw us through his window! He was giving us the death stare! James sais that if he'd questioned us, he would have just blamed it on me and my evil teenaged influence. :-)
We also went trout fishing; Dad got a big brown, James got 2 little rainbows and a few perch, I got nothing. Nothing all weekend. :-(
But eel fishing is a different story! I got two then, James only got one! And I only lost one! James lost tons! We were sharing a rod and after I caught two I let James and Kez try for all the rest cause I'd already caught my fair share. Kez, Beck and Ollie all caught one. Ray caught two, but she was hogging a rod all for herself, so thats understandable.
We wasted the day on Monday in the car. We went all the way up to Ansons Bay to see Grandma. Aparrently she couldn't make the trip down to Lake Leake to see us, even though she was apparently desperate. So she guilt trapped Mum into taking us up there. 5 hours in the car. 5 hours in the car stuck behind caravans half the time. (No offence to Caravan people) I think its very rude of Grandma to expect us to go up there and see her. We only get 8 weeks holiday a year and she expects us to waste them visiting her! She's a pentioner! She can come visit us anytime she wants, and does she? NO! But then she mopes around whenever we're on holidays and we're not visiting her! Stupid hipocrite!
Its not so bad once we get there. Not when Dad's with us. He and me and Peter and sometimes Rachel go out fishing. In the few hours we were there, I only saw Grandma over lunch, and again to say good bye. Only long enough for her to tell me I was gonna have scares all over my face for the rest of my life from my pimples. What a lovely grandmotherly thing to say. Understandably, I prefer to spend time out fishing with Peter. Peter's cool. :-) I caught 4 flathead, a coota and a red gernard. Total for the weekend: more than James!!! The only good thing about Ansons Bay: Fishing!!!
We were back at Lake Leake on Monday night. The beds at Grandma's are just too horrible to be worth it.
Tuesday was just more mucking around with the Morleys. James pretty much gave up on fishing, so we rode around, exploring all the little firetrails with Kez and Ollie. I taught them all the stupid little games we play in Maths, and we played them for an hour or so. Then we had to leave! :-( And we won't see them again probably until show weekend! And that's absolutely ages away!!!

James being a bogan.

Car Wash
All that time ago on election day, we had a carwash at school to raise money for our band tour to NZ. I just found these photos on my camera when I was getting of all the photos of our eater break. Mum took them when I wasn't there! Enjoy!
My band friends washing cars. :-)
Chris being a freak in a wet suite and lifejacket. As usual. :-) See the guy behind him with the red and black shoes? He used to have light brown hair, then he tryed to dye it dark brown, and it went red. Lol :-)

Mt Field
We spent last weekend on Mt Field, at the Oldina Ski Hut with a bunch of friends. There was us, the Dadswells and the Hatfields. The Dadswells have 2 kids, Ben, who's Ray's age, and Isi, who's the twin's age. The Hatfields also have two kids, Tess, who's my age, and Lachlen, who's Ray and Ben's age.
This is us. Keziah's on the left, followed by Ben and Lachlan. Rachel's behind them. Then Beck is sitting on me and Tess is being Sat on by Isi. It would probably be worthwile to work out who's who, othermise the rest of this post prob won't mean much.
We got up there Friday night. We all slept down stairs (us kids, that is). It was probably after midnight and we were all asleep. Well, everyone but Rachel. She got up and was walking up the stairs in the dark, on her way to the loo. Ben woke up and cause he's scared of the dark (even though he won't admit it) he had to turn on his torch and follow the unknown person up the stairs, all the while shouting at whoever it was and trying to figure out if they were real or not. He sais he was whispering, but it was definately shouting - he managed to wake just about everyone up, parents included. Anyway, he found out it was Ray and then they talked all the way back down the stairs, Ray whispering, Ben shouting. But By that time we were all awake anyway, so it was only moderately anoying.

Here's us again. This is a really cute little tarn we wlked past on the way to the lookout.
Keziah swimming in the tarn. This tarn was a bit dissapointing, because it was way to shallow to bomb into. You could dive, but I look like such a retard diving that I didn't even bother trying.
Here we are frozen after our swim.
We left Oldina at about 3 in the afternoon. And then I had the swimming carnaval, and I've been asleep most of the week after that.
Oh yeah, that last picture was of us girls out at a lookout we alked to on Saturday morning. There was no track, just a lot of bouldering :-) And Rachel's not there cause she spent the whole weekend with the guys. Typical Ray.

On Saturday afternoon, Dennis (the guy who organises these trips to Mt Field) took all us kids (boys and ray included) and my parents (cause they wanted to come), out to Lake Rodway to stay the night. Its not far and it was really easy, but it was still fun. I walked for a bit with Tess and Isi, and then I walked for a bit with Ben and Lachlen and Ray, cause their pace is a lot more like mine. And I like boasting to ben about how I've done so much walking and he's hardly done any. :-)
At Lake Rodway I really wanted to go swimming. Isi and Ben and Lachlen all said they'd come with me, but Lachlen and Isi chickened out when they discovered just how cold the water was. Ben and I found a really good rock to jump off, out in the deeper water, so we soent a while doing bombs off that. Then the sun decided to disserpear behind the surrounding hills and we got out to stop ourselves freezing conpletely.
Sleeping arrangements that night caused a few arguements. Tess and Isi and I wanted to share a tent. Duh. We're good friends. And the twins were happy to be just the two of them , and the boys were just the two of them. But then Rachel seemed to think that suddenly she had some right to be in a tent with one of me or Tess or Isi. Which she didn't. You can't spend every waking hour hanging out with the guys and expect a warm welcome into our tent just cause suddenly you can't hang with the guys anymore.
Early (like 7am, early) on Sunday morning we climbed up the nearest ridge on the Rodway Ranges. Tess and Isi and everyone else didn't want to come right to the top, so it ended up being just me and the boys. And rachel didn't even come!
The view! Amazing, isn't it!
Me waiting patiently for everyone else to finnish using our stoves so we could use them to make our breakfast :-)
On the way back to the Oldina ski hut we stopped for another swim at one of the Tarns. Rachel and Keziah got in too, this time. And Lachy was going to (again) and chickened out (again)
